Economy adds 31,000 jobs in October

Unemployment hits pandemic- era low

PRINCE GEORGE- The latest numbers out of Stats Canada this morning , show the economy added 31,000 jobs in October, bringing the national unemployment rate to a pandemic-era low.

The national unemployment rate came in at 6.7 per cent, down from 6.9 percent in September, to mark the fifth consecutive monthly decline in the rate.

In BC, the jobless rate dropped to 5.6 percent last month from 5.9 in September. A slight uptick in the numbers in Prince George however,with the unemployment rate at 6.9 percent ,from 6.7 percent the previous month .
