Cougars end losing streak, beat Americans 4-2
PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars ended their four-game losing streak by defeating the Tri-City Americans 4-2 in the second leg of their home-and-home series Saturday (Nov. 20 evening).
Craig Armstrong’s goal three minutes into the game stood until the third period where the flood games opened. Koehn Ziemmer’s fourth of the season gave the Cougars more of a cushion, but Tri-City got on the board halfway through the third period.
The Cougars would run away with it late. Ethan Samson and Connor Bowie scored 17 seconds apart to put Prince George up for good.
The Cougars are now 7-10-0 on the 2021-22 Western Hockey League season, good for 14 points in 17 games and fourth in the B.C. Division. They travel to Kelowna on Saturday (Nov. 27) to take on the Rockets.
