PRINCE GEORGE- This year’s Copper Project has raised $120,000 for Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation. Out of the three year’s that this project has been running, this is the largest donation yet. Jeff Stewart and Brent Scheck, co-owners of CopperFalls Custom Homes have decided to direct the funding to two areas of need in local healthcare.

Part of the proceeds will go towards a RT Supine Restorative Leg Exerciser, which will be utilized in ICU. The machine promotes early mobility and leg exercise in critically ill patients. The RT300 will also facilitate shorter ICU stays and provide a better quality of life much sooner.

The rest of the proceeds will go towards a regional cardiac campaign. Spirit of the North’s cardiac campaign is the next step to see a Regional Cardiac Care Unit in Prince George, which is part of further plans to deliver acute cardiac services in the North. The campaign is critical to creating change that is desperately needed to reduce travelling significant distances at significant costs to access better cardiac care.

“It is once again closure to what we all wanted; to build a first class home, engage trades and suppliers of goods and services, and give back to healthcare. Collectively it is our goal and the over 40 contributing companies who support this project to be sure that these funds make a difference.” Stewart. “Working with the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, we know that these funds will have impact here at home.”
