City steps in as dog conflicts on the rise at Ginters

PRINCE GEORGE – A series of conflicts involving dogs at the city’s largest off-leash area has the city’s Bylaw Services Department stepping up its patrols in the area.

The city confirms conflicts have been rising at Ginter’s Meadow- especially in recent months. CKPG News went to the park today, and it’s easy to see why the extra patrols are necessary as the paved pathway was packed with owners and their pooches.

The city’s Animal Control Department says a big part of the problem is owners losing control of their animals. The solution? Put them on a leash. Otherwise, a ticket will be issued.
