Northern small businesses need help

PRINCE GEORGE – With the decision to extend public health restrictions in northern British Columbia until the end of January, the Liberals say it’s time for the NDP to keep the premier’s promise of support for local businesses facing the impacts of this circuit breaker.

“We believe that, if we are going to face a circuit-breaker until, potentially, the end of January, we also need to see a matching program of circuit-breaker grants,” says Shirley Bond, the MLA for Prince George-Valemount. “When the province was facing a circuit-breaker, there were actually grant programs in place. Why should the North be treated any differently?.”

Job Minister Ravi Kahlon says the Province issued $5 million to Prince George businesses.
