United Way hosting gift card drive for community members in need

PRINCE GEORGE- United Way of Northern BC is accepting gift card donations today (Friday) for community members in need. Gift cards can be donated at the United Way office on 15th Avenue until 7:00 pm today. The organization recommends donating gift cards for warm meals, clothing, household supplies, books and gas cards.
This initiative is part of the UWNBC Tree of Lights fundraiser, which is working to raise $50,000 to support the vital social service programming and fill the gaps that the pandemic has intensified in the social service sector in Prince George. UWNBC says the gift cards are definitely not the permanent solution to the difficulties of life, but they sure will help residents in need get through the holidays season with a bit of ease
Residents that are unable to make the donation deadline today can drop them off any time at the United Way office every weekday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm until December 23rd. For each donation of $25, donors will be entered into a draw to win a ‘LocalLove’ package. Additionally, every donor will receive a coupon for a warm drink – provided by McDonald’s on Massey.
