Cougars get first win on U.S. road trip, defeat Spokane 4-2

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars picked up their first win on their four-game U.S. road trip Friday (Dec. 3) night against the Spokane Chiefs.

After trailing 2-1 after the first period, the Cougars scored three unanswered goals to win 4-2. Hudson Thornton’s slap shot above the left circle on the power play tied it halfway through the second before Connor Bowie’s wrist shot from above the hashmarks put Prince George up for good.

The Cougars improved to 8-13-0 on the 2021-22 Western Hockey League season, good for 16 points in 21 games and fourth place in the B.C. Division. They wrap up their road trip Saturday night (Dec. 4) against the Tri-City Americans.
