History in baking comes to an end.

PRINCE GEORGE – Since 1955 the Pastry Chef Bakery has helped define the downtown. On Saturday, owners since 1985, Karl and Petra Haus, decided to close their shop.

Early Saturday morning, a long lineup of people could be seen outside, making its way around the 66-year-old bakery to pick up pastries or German-style baked goods.

While others just came to say goodbye and thank you to the staff. Karl and Petra planned to retire about ten years ago and tried to sell the bakery.
