PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars’ first U.S. road trip since the COVID-19 pandemic didn’t end on a high note.

One day after getting their first win in the States over Spokane 4-2, the Cougars dropped a 4-1 decision to the Tri-City Americans.

Ryker Singer opened the scoring under 15 minutes into the first period, giving the Cougars a 1-0 lead. However, the Americans responded with four unanswered goals in the second period and never looked back.

“We were happy with our start. We managed the puck well, got a lead, I thought we did a real good job with our details, but our second period really hurt us,” Cougars Associate Coach Josh Dixon says. “We weren’t ready to go at the start of the period and we essentially handed the game over to them.”
