Secret Santa Project PG still looking for sponsors

Dec 13, 2021 | 12:37 PM

PRINCE GEORGE – It seems like December flies by quickly, as the excitement for Christmas lingers in the air. With that though, also comes the need to help out the community, especially as we continue to grapple with a pandemic and many people who are still out of work.

That’s where the Secret SANTA Project comes in, they have been collecting items for weeks now, in order to build hampers for those in need.

” So with the program, we try to match up applicants with sponsors who will provide them with a Christmas dinner and a wish list of gifts they might want, [sic] usually more practical items but they can be anything really,” explains Patrick Telford, who is the team lead at SSPPG

An important note, Patrick and his helping elves wanted people to know, is that you don’t have to have a family to apply for a hamper. They will take applications from everyone. families, couples, and even single persons.

” People are often not sure about the program or shy, they think we don’t do single people, they think we don’t do couples, they think they have to have kids, which isn’t the case.” Said Marianna Koops, Santa’s little helper ” We do hampers for all of the above.”

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or an applicant you can head to the Secret Santa Project PG Facebook page for more information. Also, if you would like to donate food, clothing, or anything else you can drop those off at Koops Bike Shop or Buskers Diner
