KMS Tools & Equipment: Amplify Prince George

KMS Tools & Equipment is a business providing a wide range of tools – from occasional use value-tools, to heavy-duty quality gear. Recently celebrating 1 year of business in Prince George, KMS prides itself on supporting the community, and being “not just another tool store”.

Mike Hornsberger, manager for KMS Tools Prince George, explains that KMS Tools strives to partner with local charities to hold “Smokey Sales” alongside their in-store events, giving charities a chance to use the space & time to fundraise their programs in front of the hardware store. The United Way of Northern BC has held a variety of these sales, using the space to help fundraise their social programs in the community.

KMS Tools also takes part in a program called “Tools for the World”, where the business will take in the community’s used or broken tools in order to repair them and send the refurbished items to needy countries & communities that can put them to use. This recycling program helps with the number of tools being thrown away or wasted, and helps lower income areas receive needed support for projects & equipment.

Another way the business gives back is through their work with World Vision – a humanitarian organization combating poverty & helping to provide access to basic necessities. Prince George & other KMS locations sponsor one kid for every employee with World Vision – currently amounting to around 400 children supported.

Mike Hornsburger says he appreciates how much the KMS team has been working to help out everyone they can at the store & embrace a can-do attitude. KMS looks forward to the return of their “Smokey Sales” in warmer weather, and continues to accept tools in need of recycling through Tools For The World.
