Valemount adopts vaccination policy for staff
VALEMOUNT- Valemount is requiring all staff, employees, direct contractors and council committee volunteers to be fully vaccinated by February 26. The village adopted the policy yesterday (Wednesday), which gives unvaccinated employees enough time to complete their immunization process.
The change has full support from Mayor Torgerson and Council. Torgerson notes all councillors have been fully vaccinated. According to Northern Health, the McBride/Valemount community health service area has the highest rate of partially vaccinated residents in the Northern Interior region with 92%, followed by Prince George City – Southwest (91%) and Prince George City – Central (90%).
“It is Council’s duty to protect the health and welfare of its employees, its staff, Council members and the volunteers who work with Council and staff,” he added.
