‘Equipment malfunction’ leads to flight delays at YXS

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George Airport (YXS) says an equipment malfunction yesterday (Dec.17) has led to some “significant delays” at the airport.

“While all possible steps to fix or replace this equipment have been taken, it has not yet been repaired,” reads a Facebook post.

“Unfortunately, this equipment failure has resulted in the grounding of any flights requiring de-icing out of YXS until such time that the de-icing equipment regains functionality. We may see some flight activity prior to the equipment repair as the weather improves.”

YXS goes on to say that it does not own or operate the de-icing equipment and is unable to comment on the status of the repairs at this time.
