Additional BC Transit route coming to Prince George

Dec 20, 2021 | 9:35 AM

PRINCE GEORGE- BC Transit services will be expanding in Prince George starting on January 2 to adapt to the needs of residents.

The expansion includes a new route, the 105 Pine Centre Express/Downtown Express, and will be the first of its kind in the community. It will connect Pine Centre Mall and Downtown via the College of New Caldedonia and Spruceland Mall. The route will only stop at key stops along the route to reduce the overall trip time for customers. Additionally, it will allow for more room for riders on the 88/89 Westgate/Hart.

Midday trips are also being added on the 15 UNBC/Downtown, and buses will come every 15 minutes through most of the day. The 16 UNBC/College Heights is being broken up into the 16 UNBC/College Heights and the 19 UNBC/Westgate to make it easier for riders.

All changes are being made as part of the long-term Transit Future Plan and Transit Future Action Plan. It was developed with recent feedback from the community and in partnership with the city.
