Omicron concerns prompt closure of Exploration Place Pop Up

PRINCE GEORGE — Fears from the threat of the Omicron variant have prompted the Exploration Place to announce the closure of its pop up location at Pine Centre Mall.

It will close at 8 p.m. Thursday night and remain closed until at least January 4.

Though it was a difficult decision, CEO Tracy Calogheros says by closing the pop up they will be helping to protect our health care workers, the community and her employees.

She adds they continue to work towards a spring reopening of the main museum site and hope to be opening their incoming national exhibit, “Trailblazing women,” at the pop up location in Pine Centre Mall in mid-january.
