PRINCE GEORGE– A transit expansion is coming to the city in 2022.

Starting January 2, the City of Prince George and BC Transit are adding transit service to the Prince George Transit System.

What does that mean? Well for starters the expansion includes the introduction of a brand new route. This expansion includes the introduction of a new route, the 105 Pine Centre Express/Downtown Express, and will be the first of its kind in Prince George.

The 105 will only stop at key stops along the route to reduce the overall trip time and get customers from A to B quicker. It also creates more room for riders on the 88/89 Westgate/Hart.

Midday trips are also being added on the 15 UNBC/Downtown route, and buses will come every 15 minutes through most of the day, which is something that’s greatly appreciated in the city.

These changes are being implemented as part of the long-term Transit Future Action Plan and there is no word yet on whether the enhanced service means fare increases for next year.
