Polar Bear Dip taking place this weekend
PRINCE GEORGE- The annual Polar Bear Dip is happening this Saturday at Ness Lake Bible Camp. The longstanding tradition raises funding for the Camper Sponsorship Fund.
“We are looking to have people join us for the annual event that sees participants raise funds and brave the frigid waters with the goal of helping send low income children to summer camp,” said Michael Gauthier with Ness Lake Bible Camp.
Each year, residents get the chance to run into the freezing cold water with the chance to win prizes. This year, there will be prizes for the top fundraiser and the best costume. The goal for 2022 is to send all the kids from the Quinson community to camp. Last year, the event raised a record amount of funding at approximately $32,000.
Residents can participate for a $40 fee, but anyone that raises more than $40 will have their fee waved. Pledge forms can be found on the Ness Lake Bible Camp website. Participants must show proof of vaccination and check in at the gym at 1:30 pm before going into the water at 2:30 pm.
