Auto Services see major uptick with cold-weather spell

PRINCE GEORGE– Temperatures are low and vehicles are cold during the winter season up North. Which has service places like Rivers Edge Services busier than usual.

With many people searching for batteries, block heaters, and winter tires it has caused a frustrating shortage for both consumers and mechanics with flooding causing shipping shortages.

Rivers Edge Services aren’t the only ones though. Canadian Tire’s Auto Service has also seen demands pick-up and felt the pinch with supplies as well.

And it’s not just service shops. In a statement from BCAA Spokesperson, Stephanie Thatcher she says… “BCAA Road Assist is seeing extremely high demand for service during this cold spell. Over the past few days, we’ve seen over double the usual number of calls for this time of year. We are seeing a lot of dead batteries and frozen locks, and yes – we have been prioritizing people who are stranded in their vehicles but will get to everyone who needs us as quickly as we can.”

Make sure you take care of your car for the rest of the winter.
