PRINCE GEORGE – As the election day for the School District 57 byelection nears on January 15th, candidates continue to campaign on key priorities.

Shannon Freeman, an Associate Professor at the University of Northern BC in the nursing program is running for school trustee with key priorities around inclusion for all children as well as addressing the special advisors report.

“I just felt like I could no longer sit by and just passively watch what continues to occur in our region,” said Freeman.

The mother of three bi-racial children said she can identify with the experience of racism that many children have and continue to face in our schools.
