Extreme cold warning in effect for Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE – Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for Prince George, Stuart – Nechako and McGregor tonight thru to tomorrow ( Wednesday ) morning. A very cold airmass will return to the Central B.C. Interior today. Cold temperatures combined with light to moderate northerly winds will result in wind chill values near minus 40 tonight.

Conditions are expected to improve Wednesday afternoon as the winds ease. Be sure to cover up . Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with the wind chill. Keep emergency supplies in your vehicle such as extra blankets and jumper cables and continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada
