BC reports record-breaking number of active COVID-19 cases

NORTHERN BC- Northern Health’s active COVID-19 case count has reached 850 after 194 new cases were reported. This comes as province-wide, 3,223 cases were identified, bringing the provincial active case count to a record 31,817. Of the active cases, 324 individuals are in hospital and 90 are in ICU.

BC’s death toll is now 2,430 after three more residents passed away, one was in Northern Health. Meanwhile, 238,524 individuals who have tested positive have recovered.

A staggering 16 new health care outbreaks were identified, as there are now 37 active outbreaks across BC’s health care facilities.
