North sees over 300 new COVID-19 cases

NORTHERN BC- Northern Health tallied another 304 COVID-19 cases as the region now has 1,231 active. Provincial case counts continue to hike as BC is reporting an additional 2,554 cases, bringing the active case count to 36,049. Out of the active cases, there are 534 individuals in hospital and 102 in ICU.

One of the seven new deaths occurred in the north as BC’s death toll has reached 2,462. Meanwhile, 249,458 people who tested positive have recovered.

From January 5-11, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 21.0% of cases, and from December 29 to January 11, they accounted for 34.5% of hospitalizations.
