Assault investigation in Williams Lake leads to firearms recovery
WILLIAMS LAKE- Police in Williams Lake were called to a home on the 700 Block of Pigeon Ave after receiving a report of an assault in progress yesterday (Tuesday). RCMP arrived shortly before 3:00 am, as an adult woman claimed that another woman was assaulting her and that she was injured.
Officers immediately responded and a suspect was located outside the residence, attempting to hide from police. She was arrested without incident and later released for a court date in April 2022.
During the on scene investigation, police located two loaded shotguns and a pistol that appears to be a BB handgun. Another person in the residence, an adult man, was attempting to conceal these firearms and was subsequently arrested for numerous firearm related offences. The man was held in custody for a court appearance yesterday (Tuesday).
“All three individuals are known to police and have ties to local gangs in the city,” said S/Sgt Del Byron, Operations NCO Williams Lake RCMP.
