BC’s active COVID-19 case count drops by 935

NORTHERN BC- 203 of BC’s 1,150 new cases of COVID-19 were identified in Northern Health. This has boosted the regions active case count to 1,582, which is up by 78 from yesterday (Wednesday). Meanwhile, BC now has 34,835 active cases, which is over 900 less than yesterday.

891 COVID-positive individuals are in hospital and 119 are in intensive care. Meanwhile, 265,765 people who tested positive have recovered.

This comes as 15 more deaths were announced across BC, none of which were in the north. The provincial death toll is now 2,520.From January 12-18, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 27.0% of cases.
and from January 5-18, they accounted for 31.0% of hospitalizations.
