MACKENZIE- RCMP in Mackenzie along with Indigenous Policing Services and BC Highway Patrol, conducted a road check on Highway 97 near Tudyah Lake on Saturday.

During this counter attack initiative, police checked approximately 150 vehicles. Of the drivers stopped at the road check, three were given driving suspensions due to impairment. Two as a result of alcohol and one case for drugs.

Police say one person was driving while under a driving suspension and will appear in court in April. Two other people were issued driving prohibition due to a notice on their driver’s license.

“Multiple verbal warning and written warnings were issued and Mackenzie RCMP will continue to work with other specialized sections to assure road safety,” said Cpl Calvin Aird, Mackenzie RCMP
