Prince George man wins $131k in BC Lotto Max draw

PRINCE GOERGE- Local man, Anthony Gartner is feeling a whirlwind of emotions after winning $131,378.20 in the Lotto Max draw from December 3, 2021.

“I didn’t know if I should laugh or cry… I felt kind of dumb-founded that I actually won,” he recalled of his initial reaction. “Words can’t describe this feeling.”

Gartner purchased the ticket from Walmart on Southridge Avenue and was at home when he found out the good news, after checking the winning numbers on the BCLC website.

“My wife told me someone won in Prince George. I went to a gas station to check it, scanned it a few times, and then took it to the clerk. He said, ‘Congratulations!’”

He plans to use some of the prize to buy his brother’s car that has been in the family for 57 years. Additionally, he is considering purchasing a new home.
