Cindy Heitman appointed superintendent of SD57
PRINCE GEORGE — Cindy Heitman has been appointed as superintendent of School District 57.
She had been the interim superintendent since former superintendent Anita Richardson took a leave of absence in January, 2021.
“The Board of Education recognizes the importance of collaboration, consistency and stability in district leadership and is pleased to be able to announce the appointment of Ms. Heitman to the superintendent role,” says Board Chair Sharel Warrington.
“Since taking on the acting superintendent role last year, Ms. Heitman has led the District with integrity and commitment through the development of a new strategic plan with a focus on equity, inclusion and diversity, and worked to implement the recommendations from the SD57 Special Advisors.
