Warming center provides big help to shelters and homeless across the city.
PRINCE GEORGE– The Association Advocating for Women and Community has been hard at work over the winter season helping the less fortunate avoid the freezing winter temperatures.
Prince George has seen many of those temperatures which have ranged from negative 40 to plus 5 degrees. Now that the cold snap has returned homeless shelters have once again seen an uptick in clients.
Although the AWAC homeless shelter is working its hardest, they are often at full capacity. However, they’re always looking for solutions whether that entails making room for the extra residents or going out and taking some of the residents who don’t want to stay in a shelter to a heating center.
