PRINCE GEORGE – The annual multi-sport event, the Prince George Iceman, has been part of our community for over thirty years.

However, the pandemic has forced it to go virtual this year, meaning teams can’t compete against each other.

But this didn’t stop one group of students from DP Todd Secondary School from forming their own team this weekend.

Most of the DP Todd Iceman team trained for the event never stepped into a gym before but had the drive to join the winter competitions.

The students began training back in October. At times the students would train with masks on their faces. For one team member, the mask became part of the training.

Although this year’s event lacked competition and cheering from the sidelines, some of these athletes still aim to compete next year.
