Council supports Ukraine

PRINCE GEORGE – Council chambers was adorned with sunflowers, the national flower of the Ukraine, and Father Andrii Chornenkyi presented Council with thanks for all the support from the City and the community in general.

A flag will be raised at City Hall tomorrow morning. But Council went the extra mile during its regular meeting, beginning with a pair of motion’s put forward by Councillor Garth Frizzell.

The first was to take $1,000 out of the Council Contingency Fund to donate to the Red Cross for relief efforts. The second was to have Administration review the City’s procurement policies to disqualify any bids with Russian ties.
