One dead following crash on Highway 97 west of Chetwynd

CHETWYND- A two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Highway 97 and the 281 Road west of Chetwynd on Highway 97 has claimed one life.

RCMP responded to reports of a collision on February 17 around 3 pm to discover an eastbound pickup had collided with a westbound pickup on the highway.

The driver of the westbound truck, an adult man, was pronounced deceased at the scene, the passenger of that vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle was not injured however; the passenger was taken to hospital with injuries that have been described as non-life-threatening.
