Ukrainian flag raised at City Hall

PRINCE GEORGE – There was a special flag-raising at City this morning.

Members of Council, senior staff and members of the Ukrainian community were on hand to raise the flag in support of the country, which is besieged by Russian troops.

“I cannot help a lot back in Ukraine because I’m here,” says Father Andrii Chornenkyi with the St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church. ” But knowing I can do something, even by raising the flag at City Hall, is comforting for me personally and for the Ukrainian community here in town. But sending the pictures and with Ukraine watching what’s happening here, they are also comforted.”
