Gas prices continue to skyrocket in Northern BC

PRINCE GEORGE– Gas prices are always a hot topic in the city. Which is why it pains many Prince George residents to see prices rising once again.

Prices are so high some may say cars are avoiding the pump with gas stations looking more like ghost towns around town.

It could prove costly as Dr. Werner Antweiler, who is an Economics Professor at Sauder School of Business, UBC believes the price could get up to $2 per liter quite soon. The big reason why? Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has caused Canada to look elsewhere for Oil.

Unfortunately for people’s pocketbooks, it won’t get better as prices like this are expected to last like this all the way until spring. However, Dr.Antweiler believes a solution, although it may be costly upfront, is to invest in an Electric Vehicle so you don’t have to worry about those pesky prices
