PRINCE GEORGE – While 26-year-old Vova Pluzhnikov was draining threes at the Canada West Playoffs last week, he was also putting the planning and organizing into a meaningful cause.
Six years ago, the basketball player left his home country of Ukraine for education here in Prince George, leaving his family back home as he was quick to become a leader and key contributor to the UNBC Timberwolves men’s basketball team.
But on Tuesday, he led something arguably bigger than any of the achievements he’s made while wearing the Green and Gold.
