36-year-old man facing charges after setting downtown dumpster on fire

PRINCE GEORGE — A local man has been charged with arson after setting a dumpster on fire.

RCMP say just before midnight on Monday, they received a report of a male suspect igniting a recycling bin next to a business on the 1600 block of Spruce Street.

Police arrived on scene to find a fully engulfed bin though the fire was quickly extinguished.

Police arrested 36-year-old Edward Brookfield and charged him with mischief under $5,000, obstructing a peace officer and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.
