A food recall has been issued by Longsheng (Canada) Agricultural Products Ltd. for its Enoki mushrooms.
The recall has been issued over a concern that the product shipped out could have Listeria contamination.
Customers are being told to return the mushrooms to the store they purchased them from or just throw the product out. The mushrooms were sold in 200g packages throughout British Columbia and may have been distributed Canada-wide.
Listeria is an odorless and tasteless germ that can make newborns and the elderly very ill. Pregnant women can get mildly ill but can potentially cause severe disease in the fetus.
