Prince George gets 97 new affordable child care spaces
PRINCE GEORGE – The ChildCareBC Plan is welcoming five new child care sites in northern B.C. into the $10 a day child care program.
Prince George will see 97 new spaces open for children (12 infant-toddler, 25 three years old to kindergarten age, 40 preschool, 20 school-age)
This expansion means that more families will have access to affordable daycare services. At sites included in the program families will not pay more than $200 a month for child care during regular business hours.
“As we work toward that goal, tens of thousands of parents are already benefiting by saving up to $1,600 a month on child care. Through Budget 2022, more savings are on the way for all types of child care,” said Katrina Chen, Minister of State for Child Care.
