IIO files report with BC Prosecution Service for consideration of charges in 3rd Ave incident
PRINCE GEORGE — The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) has filed a report for consideration of charges following an incident in Prince George back in April, 2020.
On April 12 at approximately 4:30 a.m. that day, police responded to an alarm at E & I Sports in the 1400 block of 3rd Avenue in Prince George. The store was known by police to sell firearms and ammunition.
After several hours of negotiation, the male suspect, Everett Riley Edward Patrick, was apprehended by police, medically cleared at the hospital and taken to Prince George RCMP detachment cells.
Patrick later went into medical distress while in custody of the Prince George RCMP, and was re-transported to hospital where he was found to be suffering serious injuries.
