PRINCE GEORGE — Local Mounties are seeking the public’s help in locating the person responsible for an alleged sexual assault over the weekend.

Prince George RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Cooper says just after noon on Sunday (Mar.27), police received a report of a sexual assault that occurred at a housing complex on the 2600 block of Recplace Drive earlier that morning.

She says the victim was holding an open house at the location and was showing the unit to the male suspect. The woman says the man came up behind her and touched her back before groping her. When the woman yelled, the suspect fled on foot.

The suspect is described as:

  • Indigenous male
  • Between 35-45 years old
  • Approximately 5’10
  • Medium build
  • At the time of the incident, he was wearing transitions glasses, a dark blue hoody, a baseball cap and light blue jeans with rips in the knees

Police say the victim was not physically injured in the incident. If you have any information or have video surveillance, police would like to hear from you.

In light of this incident, RCMP ask the public to “remain vigilant” when dealing with strangers on a one-on-one basis.
