Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation announces Aimee Cassie as new CEO

PRINCE GEORGE — Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation announced Aimee Cassie is taking over as CEO effective March 31.

Cassie spent six years previously working with the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS). Cassie coordinated the largest, top-earning, and only 24-hour Relay For Life in Canada. After leaving CCS Cassie joined Spirit of the North in May 2021. Cassie joined the team as manager of Strategic Planning and Community Engagement

The previous CEO Judy Neiser announced her departure in January after nine years of serving in the role.

Under Neiser’s leadership, Spirit of the North accomplished several major goals including acquiring the Spect CT Scanner; which was the second of its kind only to Victoria in the province at the time, a dedicated maternal operating suite, many additions to the clinical simulation lab, the Breast Health Imaging full-service clinic, and the dedicated molecular diagnostic lab, as well as many state of the art pieces of equipment designed to address needs, reduce wait times or attract and retain healthcare professionals to the region.

Neiser is relocating to Kelowna where has accepted the position of CEO of the Central Okanagan Community Foundation.
