PRINCE GEORGE– From Soil to Silk.

That is the new art exhibit opening today at the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum. A chance for people to come in and view beautiful fabric art, something that’s a little different from industrial history.

Paintings of sunflowers, onions, violas, kale, poppies, leeks, and more are each painted on silk and then finished uniquely by Maggee Spicer. A local artist who found inspiration from gardening and mother nature. She is overjoyed to show off her lyrical silk banners, art quilts, and eco-dyed pieces in such a great place as the Railway and Forestry Museum. A place her friend suggested to her.

You can join Maggee on April 7th at 7 pm for the Opening Reception. There you can ask questions, mingle with others and even buy the art if you’re interested. The plan is also to put on Silk Painting and Eco-Dying workshops in the future to learn how to gather materials and make your own beautiful art.
