Woman arrested after armed robbery at 100 Mile House A&W restaurant

100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — A woman is in custody after a frightening armed robbery at a fast food restaurant in 100 Mile House.

RCMP say the incident happened at about 8:10 a.m. Monday (Apr. 18). Officers rushed to the A&W for the report of a person with a gun inside the restaurant causing staff to “freak out”.

When Mounties arrived, they were directed to the basement area, where a woman was fighting with two staffers in the restaurant’s office. They took the suspect into custody and located a handgun nearby.

All combatants involved suffered minor injuries and one victim was taken to hospital by B.C. Ambulance attendants.

The suspect, a 42-year-old woman who is known to police, was taken to hospital as well for treatment of injuries. She is facing charges and has a bail hearing scheduled for Tuesday morning.
