Man arrested following gunpoint robbery at 15th and Ospika

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP have arrested a man following a robbery at gunpoint early Saturday (April 30) morning.

Police say the victim reported being robbed by a man and woman near Ospika Boulevard and 15th Avenue at 2:30 a.m. RCMP arrested Smitty Bent a short time later.

Bent was wanted on an Canada-Wide warrant for violating his parole conditions. He was found in possession of a loaded firearm and is being held in custody until his next court appearance.

Charges include:

  • Armed robbery with a firearm
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited/restricted firearm without a license
  • Possession of a firearm knowing its possession was unauthorized
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order x2
  • Possession of a weapon

The female suspect remains at large.
