PRINCE GEORGE—The 2022 National Sport for Life Summit is being held in Prince George this week on May 11 and 12, 2022. This two-day event is being hosted by Engage Sport North in partnership with the Sport for Life Society and is being held at the Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre. Prince George is one of 10 locations chosen across Canada to host the national summit.

This event gives an opportunity for sports leaders to enhance the quality of physical activity and sport. Overall, this gives participants the chance to reflect, reconnect, and reimagine participation.

“The Sport for Life Summit is our first opportunity in years to gather safely in person, to foster community among sport leaders and inspire individuals across all sectors to pave the way for quality sport participation,” said Mandi Graham, Executive Director of Engage Sport North. “With the opportunity to hear from international keynote speakers and local sport leaders, we hope to continue to build more collaborative and resilient systems where sport, health, recreation, and education sectors are working together and aligned.”

The summit is open to all community members interested in contributing to the roadmap of navigating sport participation while gearing out of COVID, and who have a desire to inspire young athletes to participate in sport. The 2022 Sport for Life Summit will be a simultaneous, multi-community event that features live and local content, including workshops, panels and virtual content to connect all host communities in real-time.

“Engage Sport North is honoured to be a presenting partner of the 2022 Sport for Life Summit,” said Mandi. “We are committed to a collaborative approach towards quality sport programming and physical literacy development. For the first time ever the Sport for Life Summit is being hosted in Prince George. Please join us, as we showcase how northern BC is committed to coming together to reconnect and move sport forward.”
