EV Vehicles gaining popularity due to gas prices despite chip shortages

PRINCE GEORGE– Many people in Prince George have probably noticed gas prices are creeping up again. With those prices rising Electric Vehicles get talked about more and more. With charging stations around the city and the economic impact the car has, the big question is why not get an EV?

Doug Beckett is the Founder of the Prince George Electric Vehicle Association and he believes in investing in an electric vehicle is the right choice with prices more affordable than 6 or 7 years ago.

But, owning and more importantly trying to get an EV isn’t all sunshine and rainbows with a lack of variety and of course a chip shortage preventing more EVs on car lots.

However, according to GasBuddy Analyst, Patrick De Haan the days of gas prices being around $1.20/L have a very slim chance of returning over the next couple of YEARS.

The PG Electric Vehicle Association will be hosting an EV Meet-up at Rivers Edge Auto Service Wednesday night at 7:00 pm. They are encouraging anyone who is interested or curious about buying an EV to come and ask owners about their electric vehicles.
