New Story Institute Film School location coming to Prince George
PRINCE GEORGE – A partnership between Kopar Administration and Barker Street Cinema announced Thursday that Prince George would be the home to a brand new film school.
Working with Vancouver’s Story Institute, the new school will focus on the ins and outs of the film industry. The curriculum plans to provide professional education to those in and around Prince George. Students will be taught skills in film and acting, independent film production, cinematography, sound design, special effects, hair and make-up, and anything else required.
“We have been doing everything we possibly can to build the film industry in Prince George and the north for the last five years,” says Norm Coyne of Barker Street Cinema. “One of the things we identified along the way was you have to bring a lot of people into the city, and it makes a lot more sense if we can grow the talent here, then we can work on the films in Prince George, with the people of Prince George, for Prince George.”
