Going by bus is free during Go By Bike Week in PG

PRINCE GEORGE – Go By Bike Week began in Victoria as Bike to Work Week in 1995 with a group to raise the profile of commuter cycling. BC Transit has participated in the bike event for several years by offering free transport for cyclists.

From May 30th through to June 5th, The City of Prince George and BC Transit offers complimentary rides for those who travel using a bike during Go By Bike Week. Participants can use the bus bike racks mounted on the front of the bus.

To get a free ride on the Prince George Transit System, Go By Bike, the participant will need to show their helmet when boarding the bus.

All conventional BC Transit buses are equipped with racks on the front, Making it more accessible for cyclists to combine two forms of sustainable transportation.

According to Go By Bike organizers, 50,000 British Columbians participated in the program last year, saving over 400 thousand kilograms of greenhouse emissions and improving air quality.

The Prince George Cycling Club has been organizing the events of Go By Bike Week in Prince George for 11 years.

Throughout the rest of this week, Check-In Stations will be around the city where riders can enter to win daily prize draws.
