Spruce Kings acquire American forward Jake Schneider

PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George’s Junior A hockey team has drawn a former high school hockey star north of the border, by way of the top junior league in the United States.

On Monday, the Prince George Spruce Kings announced the acquisition of American-born forward Jake Schneider from the Waterloo Black Hawks of the United States Hockey League in exchange for Future Considerations.

The native of Plymouth, Minnesota scored six goals and added seven assists in 41 USHL games last season. The five-foot-eleven 195-pound forward is committed to Colgate University for the 2023-24 season. Schneider was a top scorer at Wayzata High, scoring 52 points in his three years of high school hockey.

In a release from the Spruce Kings, he says he’s thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the organization and test his skills in Canadian Hockey.
