Major Crimes Unit investigating fatal incident in Vanderhoof

PRINCE GEORGE — The North District Major Crimes Unit has taken over an investigation into a fatal motor vehicle incident that occurred in Vanderhoof on Thursday afternoon.

Police were called to the 1500-block of Ring Road shortly after 1 p.m. on July 9. Frontline RCMP officers responded immediately to the scene, where one person was later taken into custody.

Investigators have confirmed the incident resulted in a death. Police say the matter is believed to be isolated and there is no ongoing risk to public safety.

As the investigation continues, officers are asking anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to review dash camera recordings or residential surveillance footage that may have captured any relevant information.
