Kodiaks looking for cheerleaders to join new cheer squad program

“When I was growing up and I was cheerleading, I just have good memories from that. It was a good experience. Some of the girls that I did cheerleading with back then are still my closest friends and that was years ago. It’s fun. You make friends, you stay active.”

Team President Craig Briere couldn’t be more thrilled with the idea as he says it adds to an already electric atmosphere opposing teams have to deal with on game day.

“We’re already getting a reputation around Canada about being one of the loudest venues to play in. Our fans are great. They make a lot of noise. A cheer program is just able to sort of help support that. Get the crowd going when need be.” –Craig Briere, Team President, Prince George Kodiaks

He also says It also gives youth an opportunity around the city to join the cheer team no matter their history in the sport.

“It’s a great program, for anybody interested. 16 to 22, male or female, I’d encourage you to check it out. Even if you don’t have a background in cheer or dance, as long as you’ve got the right attitude and you want to put in the work and effort, you’re more than welcome.”

Although they won’t be on the field this weekend, the Kodiaks Cheer team is hoping to make their debut soon at Masich Place Stadium.
